The Barrington High School boys hockey team opens its season this Saturday, Dec. 11 at 6 p.m. with a home game against LaSalle Academy. Home games for the Eagles are played at the Portsmouth Abbey rink. Fans are welcome to attend (masks required).
This year’s team is led by senior captain defenseman Josh LeBlanc and senior assistant captains Sam Faulkner and Brenan Gazeryan. Last season, the team qualified for the playoff quarterfinals but were unable to compete due COVID.
This past weekend, the team participated in a set of friendly scrimmages to support the Injury Fund, against East Greenwich (on Saturday) and Portsmouth (on Sunday). The team lost both games, 4-1 and 3-2, respectively. Goals were scored by sophomore Trevor Snow (2), and freshman Chase Watts.
