It was a record-setting weekend for the Barrington High School boys indoor track team.
The Eagles’ 4x200-meter relay team was crowned meet champion at the East Coast Invitational Meet, and in the process set a new Barrington High School record.
The relay team of Bobby Wind, Will DiGiacomo, Charly Potter and Patrick Trainor raced to a first-place time of 1:31.99, which topped the previous mark of 1:32.50 set in 2024 by Potter, Iain DeBoth, Ethan Knight and Gabe Tanous.
Wind and Trainor each celebrated individual meet championships — Wind, a senior, won the 55-meter hurdles, while Trainor, a junior, won the 55-meter dash. Trainor clocked a 6.66 seconds in the 55-meter dash, while Wind clocked a 7.50 in the 55-meter hurdles.
Trainor, in addition to his two first-place finishes, also grabbed a second-place finish in the long jump. Trainor finished with a distance of 22 feet, 4.5 inches.
DiGiacomo celebrated a second-place finish in the 400-meter race. The senior clocked a 51.27 in the event.
Barrington’s team of Wind, Grady Hazlett, Jared Lesk and Onson Tieu finished third in the shuttle hurdles. Henry Stockwell finished fifth in the 800-meter race, and Fritz Muehlbauer finished sixth in the same event. Joe Adams was fifth in the weight throw.
The meet was held at Providence Career and Technical Academy, and drew the top teams from around New England and New York.
