The Barrington High School boys hockey team took advantage of the holiday weekend by traveling to Connecticut on Monday for a non-league game against the New Canaan Red Rams.

It was a strong matchup, as the Red Rams are a top team in the Connecticut Division 1 hockey league with a 2-1-1 record in league play. The back and forth game ended in a 2-2 tie after overtime.

Barrington’s first goal was scored by sophomore Trevor Snow and assisted by freshman Henry Kelsey. The second goal was scored by senior captain Sam Faulkner and assisted by senior captain Brenen Gazeryan.

Sophomore Cam Siwik contributed an impressive 36 saves in the game.

The Eagles have another busy upcoming weekend with two critical league matches — first against Warwick (0-2-2) on Friday night at 6 p.m. at Thayer Arena and then again on Saturday evening at 6 p.m. at home (the Portsmouth Abbey rink) against Prout (0-5). The Eagles planned matchup against Burrillville (2-0-0 in league play) on Thursday, Jan. 13th was postponed due to COVID protocols.
