Fall Book Sale at Weaver Library Oct. 14-15, 2022

The Friends of the East Providence Public Library will hold a Fall Book Sale on Fri. & Sat., October 14 &15 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is free. Thousands of books will be available. Hard and soft cover books are $1, children’s 50¢, pocket-sized paperbacks are 50¢ and CDs, DVDs and audio books are $1. Books are sorted in more than 50 categories and are easily accessible on display cases; novels are in order by author’s last name. On sale are novels, vintage, collectible, recently released, author-signed, yearbooks, classics and books on business, health, sports, cooking and gardening. Also offered are books on science, history, art, film and more, as well as sheet music, comics and puzzles. Pay by cash or check only. Books are restocked continuously. Jim McGaw

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
