'Folk at the Farm' returns to Frerichs Farm on Oct. 2

The Collaborative, a nonprofit arts organization in Warren, RI, has announced information regarding this year’s Folk at the Farm, a free music concert featuring four Rhode Island-based groups. The event will take place on Sunday, Oct. 2 from 2-6 p.m. at Frerichs Farm, 43 Kinnicutt Ave., Warren, RI.

Since The Collaborative launched in 2016, part of their focus has been to provide fun and meaningful community events that offer original and diverse entertainment suitable for a broad audience, like this summer’s Warren Folks Festival, which saw upwards of 2,000 attendees enjoy a fun day of live music, art, food and drinks. Folk at the Farm continues that mission by featuring a quality mix of high-caliber local artists headlined by award-winning and internationally acclaimed folk group the Atwater-Donnelly Band. Joining this year will be Warren-based Americana Folk trio The Whelks, Caribbean Soul Duo with Becky Bass & Jhony Keys, and the high energy of “New England’s hometown Cajun band”, Magnolia.

“Events like this help bring the community together to share an experience while enjoying great music and local food and drink,” said Uriah Donnelly, Executive Director and Founder of The Collaborative. “This lineup really has something for everyone.”

There will be light fare available for purchase from Warren restaurants Hunky Dory and Bywater, as well as confections from Black Dog Donuts. Beverages will be offered from Proclamation Ale Company, Bristol’s Pivotal Brewing Co., Warren-based beer hall, The Guild, Tiverton-based wine importer Wine Wizards, and Newport winery Greenvale. There will also be non-alcoholic offerings from the popular mocktail drink cark Kristie’s Kraftails.

Folk at the Farm is a free event, however, donations to The Collaborative are appreciated, a portion of which will go to The David S. Frerichs Jr. Memorial Scholarship fund. The Collaborative suggests bringing chairs and blankets as limited seating will be available. This is a rain or shine event.
