EAST PROVIDENCE — The East Providence High School girls’ lacrosse team fell in its first game of the week, 10-5, to visiting Cranston East in a Division III contest at Pierce Stadium, June 8.
Ashley Dias netted the first goal of the game for the Townies, but the Thunderbolts answered shortly thereafter and eventually pulled away. Olivia Williams led the locals with two goals.
Ryleigh Grant and Emily Gorski, like Dias, finished with one each. Alexis Rosa was credited with seven saves in the E.P. net.
The loss left the Townies with a 2-7 record and likely unable to earn a berth in the upcoming D-III playoffs.
