Locals drop opener to North Providence, 6-0

CUMBERLAND — The Riverside/East Providence Central All-Stars, the District 2 winners, dropped a 6-0 decision to North Providence, winners of District 1, in the opening round of the 2021 12U state tournament at Garvin Field Saturday, July 24.

Riverside/EP Central fell into the elimination bracket of the tournament with the defeat and will face  District 3 winner Warwick American Monday, July 26, back in Cumberland for a chance to stay alive in the event. Warwick lost to District 4 winner Smithfield, 9-3, in its opener over the weekend.

First pitch Monday is 5:30 p.m.
