Mt. Hope girls' tennis drops match against Cranston West

The Mt. Hope High School girls' volleyball team were quite competitive against one of the league's best teams late last week, but still dropped a 3-0 contest to visiting Barrington Friday night, Sept. 19, in a Division II outing at home.

The Huskies dipped below .500 to 3-4 in the league ranks with the 25-21, 25-23 and 25-19 setback. Leah Marshall led the locals with six kills and Abby Allen added five blocks.

Girls' tennis
The MHHS girls' tennis team closed out last week with a 6-1 loss to Cranston West in a Division I outing, falling to 1-3 on the season.

Kaia Brown scored the lone point for the Huskies, a 3-6, 6-2, 6-4 victory in singles. Emma Alice Caetano also went three sets for the locals before falling 3-6, 6-2 and 6-4. Alexa Sousa and Maggie Dufficy went to a tie-breaker in the first set in doubles for the Huskies, eventually falling 7-6 and 6-1.
