What are the odds that Barrington Police would respond to two separate incidents involving vehicles that rolled off retaining walls within a 24-hour time period?

Barrington Police and EMTs responded to the town hall property at about 11 a.m. on Friday, March 28, after a vehicle rolled off the retaining wall near the Peck Center building.

Police said a resident had parked his vehicle in front of the town hall and then exited the vehicle. When he returned a short time later, the vehicle was missing. Police said the vehicle rolled out of its parking space, across the road encircling the town hall and off the retaining wall near the Peck Center building. No one was injured, and the vehicle was towed away.

At about 2 a.m. on Saturday, March 29, a Lincoln Avenue resident called police to report that the Lyft driver he had hired to bring him home had driven the vehicle off a retaining wall on the property. The resident told police the vehicle was stuck on the retaining wall.

According to the police dispatch log, the resident and the driver had tried to get the vehicle off the wall but were unable to do so. The resident also said they called a private tow company, but no one had arrived yet. Police contacted a tow company which responded to the residence and removed the vehicle from the retaining wall.
