Incoming Rep. Ouellette steps down from Westport Select Board

Posted

It’s official — incoming 8th Bristol Representative Steven Ouellette is leaving the Westport Select Board. Ouellette, vice chairman of the town’s chief governing board, submitted his resignation Monday, Dec. 9, effective Tuesday, April 8. That’s the date of the town election at which voters will fill two open seats currently held by him and chairwoman Shana Teas. Ouellette leaves as he prepares to take over the reins for Paul Schmid, the former 8th Bristol Rep, who served in that role for 14 years. He won election to the office in November, beating three other Westport residents, and a candidate from Acushnet, for the job.
