Barrington is co-sponsoring a special workshop focused on educating children on simple steps they can take to help the planet.
“Reduce, Reuse, Recycle: Simple Changes for a Healthier Planet” will take place on Thursday, Jan. 16 at Collis Family Gallery at Barrington Public Library from 5:30 to 7 p.m.
According to the town’s newsletter, the workshop will be led by the farmer-educators of the Open fArms Retreat and will be geared to children ages five to 10.
“Participants will play a recycling-sorting game and build bird feeders with recycled materials, along with other fun activities,” stated the newsletter.
Dinner will be provided free of charge to families of participants. There will also be activities for children younger than five years old.
This workshop is sponsored by the Town of Barrington, East Bay Community Action Program (EBCAP), and the Health Equity Zones of Warren, East Providence and Bristol. Registration is required. To sign up, visit www.barrington.ri.gov
