John's presentation will focus on the process of making music with “found objects” as an exploration of the relationship between humanity and natural resources. What are the musical characteristics of objects that we find in nature? How do we adjust our musical vision to conform to the properties of those objects? And where can these questions help us beyond music? For this session, we encourage you to bring along an item you have found in nature, that has either been made or could be made into a musical instrument.
