Join Imago in welcoming harpist and vocalist Áine Minogue on Sunday, Sept. 10

Posted

Join Imago Foundation for the Arts as it welcomes Áine Minogue at 4 p.m. on Sunday, September 10 at Imago Gallery, 36 Market Street, Warren, RI. Doors open at 3:30 p.m.

Minogue’s voice, though uniquely her own, reflects the lyricism and richness to be found in Irish music, mythology, and poetry as she proves beyond reasonable doubt why the harp is indeed the instrument of angels. Born and raised in Borrisokane, County Tipperary, Minogue has worked to explore traditional Irish music, underpinning her success in arranging and composing her own music.

Her recording, “Celtic Lamentations,” was awarded Celtic Album of the Year (NAV Lifestyle Awards), and her harp has entertained both presidents and prime ministers. Read more about her at: https://aineminogue.com/

Tickets will be available at the door for $18 or may be purchased in advance on eventbrite at: https://minogueatimago.eventbrite.com or reserved by emailing MusicAtImago@gmail.com or calling 401-392-1322.

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
