The Kickemuit Middle School outdoor track and field teams had an outstanding performance recently as they competed in their Eastern Division Championship Meet in Barrington, highlighted by two individual event winners.

For the girls, Jourdan Cicchinelli actually took home three solo titles: the high jump at 4'6," the shot put with a throw of 24'4" and the long jump at 15'10." She was also second in the 100 hurdles with a 17.3.

Sofenne Schofield was the winner of the 400 in 1:03.6, while also running second in the 100 dash with a 27.7 and finishing fifth in the long jump at 13'6."

Lyla Toevs was third with a 27.8 in the 100 dash. Makenna Butterworth was seventh in the 100 at 29.7 and ninth in the long jump at 12'6." Toevs was also third in the 400 with a 1:06.3 with Rosalie Ignacio sixth with a 1:07.2.

Flynn Hancock added a fourth in the high jump at 4'4." Daniella Jaja ran fifth in the 800 with a 2:46.8 and was third in the high jump at 4'6" on attempts. Raegan McGinn was sixth in 2:50. Gia Corey ran sixth in the 3,000 with a 12:44.5 and eighth in the turbo javelin at 64'3." Amelia Dougherty was 10th in the shot put at 20'2."

Among the top boys' results were Chase Aiksonoras running second in the boys' 400 with a time of 59.50. Gavin Soares-Pires was fifth in 1:05.9 and Dylan Cirillo ninth in 1:08.2. Aiksonoras was also second in the 800 with a 2:32.7, third in the 1,500 with a 5:02.5 and fourth in the high jump at 4'10."

Ben Fallon was second in the 3,000 with a 11:29.1. Liam Donovan was ninth with a 13:12.2. Kai Wilford ran fourth in the boys' 200 with a time of 27.5, third in the 100 hurdles in 16.9 and third in the shot put at 31'8." Ethan LaScola was sixth at 13'2" and Nolan Toevs seventh at 13' in the long jump.

In the overall combined team standings, the Huskies finished second with 180 total points to the 333.5 of the winners and host Barrington.

The Eagles won both the girls' and boys' titles as well with 211.5 and 122 points, respectively.

The efforts of Cicchinelli, Schofield and the rest of KMS girls led them to a second-place result with 109.5 points, while the boys finished fourth with 70.5.

The Huskies were scheduled to complete their 2025 season Sunday afternoon, June 1, at the state championship meet in Johnston.
