As the second semester speeds down the tracks to completion in the next few weeks, it is good to hold the student’s attention, and not let them ease up on their studies. One way to do this is the unannounced quiz. So, have at it students!

Part I – Multiple Choice

A town council member who advocates for a $15 minimum wage for all town employees, without knowing the impact on current employees or the municipal budget is:

1. Naïve;

2. Egocentric, loving the sound of their voice, no matter what they are saying;

3. Ill equipped for the role of public servant to which they have been elected;

Part II – Essay

In 500 words or less, describe the fairness of scheduling “a special presentation discussing the restructuring of the high school’s program of studies” 1) at a time many interested parties will be observing Passover and Holy Week traditions, and 2) when there does not seem to be anyone amongst the number of scheduled speakers who holds a different opinion on the “restructuring.”
