I am seeing political lawn signs everywhere, but have you noticed the yellow ones that aren’t political? They say "STOP SEASONS," and not everyone I asked knew what they meant. Turns out that a gas station company with places all over the Northeast wants to build a new one here in Tiverton. In addition they want to put in a large convenience store and drive-up restaurant. At night it will be the only bright lights around.
Someone put together an online video that shows what this development will look like and how it’s going to affect Main Road traffic. It’s quite amazing, with aerial views of Tiverton and interviews with citizens who live here. You can see the size of the Seasons footprint at the intersection with Souza Road.
What a great thing if we could view an instructive video for every large development before it’s built. People would know better if they want it or not, because seeing things ahead of time helps. For an insight into the Seasons proposal that you will not find anywhere else, watch this three-minute video at preservetiverton.org.
