I just got my Town of Barrington calendar and on the first page for Monday, Jan. 20 is the only abbreviated holiday, "MLK Day" instead of "Martin Luther King Jr. Day". How rude and arrogant of the town. What blatant ignorance. What obvious passive aggressive bigotry. On the day honoring a black man who fought and died to end segregation, his initials are used instead of his name. MLK Day is insultingly inexcusable to everyone not just people of color.
They didn't do that to a white guy. Oh no. On Monday, October 12 there's plenty of room on the calendar date with the same bold print for the heading "Columbus Day" and "Barrington Day of Caring" (I'm gonna vomit). Do you believe it ?
What a bunch of disgusting, bigoted phonies. The only thing worse will be their unapologetic excuse and uppity attitude. They can't do anything right. Get rid of them.
There's an old Italian saying, "A rotting fish stinks from the head down."
