Letter: Disappointed in the 4th Concert Series

To the editor:

I wanted to share my disappointment with this year’s 4th Concert Series lineup. I sent an email to the committee and they did not bother to respond. As an avid concertgoer for many years, this year’s lineup is terrible. Some of these bands have never been here and nothing is known about them.

The concert series has been the only event other than the parade that has drawn big crowds. The committee seems to hire bands that fits their liking, and not the crowd’s. Also, for years there was always a concert before the fireworks, which now is not scheduled, so that the committee can have a night off before the parade. I believe I can speak for concert attendees that we want a concert the night before and prior to the fireworks.

To the concert series committee, let’s listen to the public. I am sure that these bands are already booked, but I know I will not be going this year, and that’s less love in the bucket.
