Zachary Cooper’s Aug. 25 letter about “a year of vaccine vitriol” starts out by quoting an NPR Aug. 12 tweet stating “unvaccinated people now have the same [CDC] guidance as vaccinated people.” In fact they’ve had the same guidance from day one.
The actual difference is that the unvaccinated chose to ignore that guidance, presumably on the theory that “the government can’t tell me what to do.” (In truth they weren’t “telling,” they were guiding.) This passel of proud protesters included the five anti-vaccination talk show hosts who died from COVID in 2021.
But at least they died with the knowledge that, unlike the physician who Mr. Cooper derides for having the temerity to urge others to get vaccinated because they care about others, they couldn’t give a rat’s patootie about infecting others.
