Letter: Help Rotary Club positively impact people’s lives

To the editor:

The Portsmouth/Tiverton Rotary Club is a fellowship of business, professional and community leaders dedicated to improving our community. We connect passionate people with diverse perspectives to exchange ideas, forge friendships and take action to help those in need. Our goal is to find new and effective ways to enhance health, stability and prosperity.

No project is too big or too small for us. We embrace new challenges and remain committed to finding solutions to some of the community’s most pressing issues. Through fund-raising and volunteering, we have been able to help multiple organizations including Food Banks, Boys & Girls Club, Maher Center, MLK Center, YMCA, Miles 4 Megan, and youth/sports organizations.

As a member I have had the privilege of leaving an enduring impact on people’s lives, making them healthier, happier, and better off than they were before — and I’ve had fun in the process. For those who want to make a difference, I invite you to come to one of our meetings or events.

Please visit us on Facebook or contact us at RotaryclubofportsmouthRI@gmail.com for more information.

Meet our staff
Jim McGaw

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
