To the editor:
The V.F.W. Post 237, Bristol, every year has a poppy drive to raise money for various charities. All the money collected goes to very good causes. We contacted Seabra and the Bristol post office. They both were very receptive letting us on their property to collect money.
The Bristol Stop & Shop was also contacted about setting up a table on their property to collect money and we were turned down.
The manager at this branch apparently is not very patriotic. To me, this is tantamount to disrespect to veterans and their extended families who shop there, which I’m sure is a good percentage of their business. V.F.W. members and their families should think about taking their business elsewhere.
