Letter: These questions about school plan need to be answered

Your recent editorial ……“why” is superb!

I realize you are limited in what can be asked. The following questions occur to me.

• How did the school facilities fall into such poor condition?

• How long have many of these deficiencies been known?

• Where were the deficiencies identified and made public before this report?

• Who is responsible in the chain of authorities and financing that allowed this to happen?

• How is this “new” plan superior to what seems to be working or is it part of what seems to be an educational fad?

• Are the projected costs inclusive of the ongoing cost and life complications of busing hundreds of children miles and minutes longer each day?

• Is the new dazzlingly plan superior only in our imagination?

Reading the ongoing dialog I know many other significant issues exist. Until we know how we arrived at these circumstances little action or decision making seems appropriate.
