As we bear witness to the rapid dismantling of our governmental institutions, many of us are feeling a sense of hopelessness and helplessness. While there may be little we can do here in Bristol to directly impact what is happening in Washington, DC, there are still opportunities for us to make a difference. As the saying goes, “all politics is local.”
So, what can we do? There are many ways to create an impact in the town and state where we live. Whether it’s volunteering with a non-profit organization whose mission resonates with us, getting involved in your child’s PTA/PTO, or taking political action by contacting elected officials, attending rallies, or joining a group that reaches out to crucial swing state voters, we can make our voices heard.
If you are a resident of Bristol and a registered Democrat, you are invited to attend a Bristol Democratic Town Committee meeting. These meetings take place once a month and provide a platform for updates and discussions with local, state, and federal officials on issues that are important to Democrats. We also organize activities to make a difference right here in Bristol. This is a critical moment to engage, be heard, and make an impact.
If you are interested in joining us, please send an email to BristolRIDems@gmail.com. Let's work together to create positive change in our community and beyond. We look forward to hearing from you.
