Letter: Why Shana Teas has our vote next Tuesday

Posted

We write to support Shana Teas to be re-elected to the Westport Select Board on Tuesday, April 8, 2025.

Shana has proven herself to be an incredible asset to the Town of Westport. She is smart, hard-working, conscientious, compassionate and responsive to the needs and ideas of the public. She seems to attend every event in town!

Shana speaks clearly about the issues in town. She expresses her opinions well and honestly. We find her straightforward and resilient. She tries to find ways to bring people together who have different views such as setting up ad hoc committees with diverse memberships where she joins in to hear what they have to say.

Her understanding of the budgetary process and the need for checks and balances and oversight impresses us. She has worked to make the budgetary process more efficient to make use of every penny available to run the town.

If you ask Shana a question, she is most often ready to answer it as well. Her knowledge of how the town operates is remarkable. She is an excellent chair of the select board meetings.

Shana has made strong efforts to improve communication throughout the town. A new town website being developed now will help in that effort.

We urge you to vote for Shana. You will not regret it.

The letter was signed by Westport residents David Cole, Chuck Goldberg, Wendy Goldberg, Frank McDonough, Betty Slade and Dale Weber, all of Westport.
