Letter: Writer’s marijuana claims were misleading at best

Posted

I would like to respond to the misleading letter from last week by Michael Byrnes about marijuana legalization. Mr. Byrnes selected six bullet points from “an article that appeared in the Denver Post,” on which he then based his further arguments.

This article was not an article at all. Rather, it was a guest editorial penned by a Trump-appointed U.S. attorney. Quoting an op/ed piece as fact illustrates perfectly how disinformation thrives in our culture. Restating the opinion of one man simply because he was given a platform is disingenuous at best.

I've noticed this person writes letters frequently, often with dubious claims. I hope Mr. Byrnes will consider choosing more reliable sources or at least be more honest about his sources when attempting to make such claims.
