A caller from Taylors Lane reported found/lost property on West Main Road at 9:48 a.m.

Wednesday, July 27

A caller from South Shore Beach reported a car accident on South Shore Road at 4:20 p.m.

A caller from Pleasant View Drive reported an animal complaint at 4:23 p.m.

Thursday, July 28

A caller reported found/lost property at the Wilbur McMahon School on the Commons at 6:55 a.m.

A caller reported a domestic disturbance on South Shore Road at 11:47 p.m.

Chelsea L. Fontaine, 33, of 50 Snell Road, was charged by Portsmouth Police with driving under the influence (first offense) after she was pulled over for speeding on Route 24 in Portsmouth around 2:25 a.m. Fontaine was later issued a District Court summons and released to a sober adult party, Portsmouth police said.

Sunday, July 31

A caller from Tompkins Lane reported larceny/forgery/fraud at 12:47 p.m.

Lauren M. Silvia, 36, of 82 Colebrook Road, was charged with animals at large after a caller reported a loose dog at 6:08 p.m.

Sean P. Kinnane, 31, of 3918 Main Road, Tiverton, was charged with DUI of liquor – BAC unknown (first offense), and cited for driving with a suspended/revoked/canceled license (first offense), after police pulled him over on Meeting House Lane at 8:15 p.m.

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once.
