Mario C. Tosone, 90, formerly of Barrington

Mario C. Tosone, 90, formerly of Barrington, died peacefully on Aug. 12, 2021. He was the beloved husband of Helene M. (O’Brien) Tosone.  

Born in Coppitto, Italy, a son of the late Emilio and Silvia (Lavini) Tosone, he lived in Barrington for 38 years, Riverside for 11 years and wintered in Venice, Fla.  

Mr. Tosone was Head of the Research and Development for the former Globe Mfg., Fall River, Mass., from 1972 before retiring in 1995.  

Mario was a member of the St. Luke Church Golf League, Kendbrin Swim & Tennis Club and the American Association of Textile, Chemist & Colorist.  

A sports enthusiast, he was a devoted Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots fan.  He enjoyed playing tennis, swimming, bike riding, walking on the beach and traveling the world with his loving wife Helene. 

Mr. Tosone was a United States Navy veteran serving during the Korean Conflict.  

Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Karen M. Kazanjian and her husband Michael of Barrington and Christine A. Damato and her husband Greg of West Hartford, Conn.; a son, John M. Tosone and his wife Cindy of Charlestown; a brother, Anthony Tosone of Lady Lake, Fla., and four grandchildren.  

His funeral was held on Tuesday, Aug. 17, 2021, from the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Ave., Riverside, with a Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Angels Church, Maple Avenue, Barrington. A private burial with Military Honors was held in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
