The trustees of a home left in the late Bob Healey’s estate have signed a purchase and sale agreement for the home and two lots of land at 665 Metacom Ave., agreeing if conditions are met to sell it to a Bristol developer who hopes to build up to 48 apartment units on the 2.3-acre site.
Mr. Healey, a Warren attorney and founder of the Cool Moose Party, died in March 2016. His small red bungalow on Metacom, which is currently occupied by a friend, has been on the market for several months.
The purchase and sale agreement was reportedly signed in late November by Ruth E. Stone and Ann Marie Lavallee, co-trustees of the Martinelli Family Trust, which was bequeathed the property in Mr. Healey’s estate. Friend Jade Gotauco, whom Mr. Healey gave limited rights to stay in the home following his death, has lived there since before his passing.
The prospective purchaser would be Shanna Realty LLC of Bristol. Authorized member Michael T. O’Brien could not be reached for comment this week, as several messages left for him at numbers listed online were not returned.
In the purchase and sale agreement, Shanna states the intent to develop either two, 24-unit apartment buildings, or a single, 48-unit building on the site.
The proposed sale price is unknown; however, the agreement states that the buyer requires 280 days to complete due diligence for any necessary permits and any zoning approvals needed.
Warren Town Planner Bob Rulli said Thursday that the town has not received any correspondence on the proposed development.
