Posted

Do you love to run? Do you love to connect and socialize with your local community? Do you want to make an impact with your actions this Earth Month?

Join the local Newport Run & Chug club at 6:30pm at the Fastnet Pub to plog Newport and then have a drink!

Plogging with the Newport Run & Chug group is a fun way to participate in Earth Month activities while connecting with your local community. Gloves and trash bags are provided. Bring your running shoes, your best earth month spirit, and join us as we Plog for our community.

Gloves and bags for all plogging events are provided.

Preventing trash from entering the watershed is a great way to help the Earth all year long. Stay tuned for more plogging events year round, or reach out to us if you are interested in organizing one with us.

Jim McGaw

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
