Paul M. Ramsay, 76, of Bristol passed away at his home on Monday, Nov. 22, 2021, with his family at his side. He was the beloved husband of Cheryl Rogers for 18 years before his passing.
Born in Prince Edward Island, Canada, he was the son of the late Enzly W. “Jim” and Lillian (Murphy) Ramsay. They later moved to Bristol, R.I. where Paul grew up on Ferrycliffe Farm, now Roger Williams University.
Paul worked as the Distribution Superintendent for the Bristol County Water Authority for 44 years before retiring in 2011. After retiring, he went on to lend a hand in the family business as a mechanic, where he loved to tinker with anything that had an engine, especially Ford Broncos. Paul loved cooking, the outdoors, especially fishing, boating, hiking, and visiting New Hampshire and Maine with his wife. What he enjoyed most was spending time with his family and close friends.
Paul is survived by his wife Cheryl; children: Candace Ferreira (Rick), Kimberly Almeida (Norman), Sean Ramsay (Kim), Kyle Ramsay (Amanda), Aubrey Souza (David), Rayanne Ramsay (Isabel), Michael Rogers (Danielle); 7 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; his siblings: James “Fred” Ramsay, Scott Ramsay (Meg), Heather Gingrave (Mike), Glenn Ramsay, Bonnie Howland (Bill), Enzly Ramsay Jr. (Lisbeth); 9 nieces and nephews, and close friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a celebration of life Saturday, Dec. 4, 2021, at 11 a.m. at The First Congregational Church, 300 High St., Bristol. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his name can be made to the Rhode Island Saltwater Anglers Foundation, specifically the “Take a Kid Fishing” Campaign.
