Pierce Stadium music festival benefits homeless

EAST PROVIDENCE — The MAE Organization, a local non-profit in support of the homeless, hosts a music festival on Sunday, June 26, at Pierce Memorial Stadium, 201 Mercer St., East Providence. Gates open at 12:30 p.m.

Events include live music, magic, dance, raffle, vendor tables, activities, food, drinks, ice cream and more. Schedule Main Stage performers include: Providence Drum Troupe, Jake Kambo, Andrea Vargas, Route 6 Band, Berta Cunha, Brother To Brother, Jose Nazario, Rachel Ellinwood, Marc Dennis, Tony Borges, Kg Express, Eight and One Dance Company East, Bg Tales From Brothers Gibb. Scheduled Stage 2 performers include: Magic Show with Chris Lengyel, Peters Entertainment Kids Show, Group Foclorico Portugues de Cranston.

Admission is $25 in advance, $30 at the door. Children 13 and under are admitted free. For tickets or more information call 1-833-462-3674 or visit maeorg.org.

Jim McGaw

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
