PLIKE! verb [plīk], pliked, plik·ing

To pick up litter while biking.

How it works:

-This event begins & ends at Bike Newport HQ.

-Gather at Bike Newport HQ between 10-11am, collect cleanup tools, enjoy local treats, register for prizes.

-Bike around town, to the beach, or to a park to pick up litter.

-Bring your litter back to Bike Newport HQ in your backpack. We will sort & weigh all collected litter!

-Everyone must return by 2pm latest.

What you need to bring:

-Your bike, helmet, water bottle, and a backpack or pannier.

*Would you rather participate on foot? You can plalk (pick up litter while walking) or plog (pick up litter while jogging)

What we will provide:

-Cleanup supplies: gloves, reusable bags to line your backpack, map of heavily-littered areas

-Fuel! Coffee & pastries

-Water-filling station

Please note:

-Go at your own pace - this is not a race!

-Masks are required.

-We will ensure COVID compliance with hand sanitizing and 6-ft social distancing.

-If you don’t have a bike and would like one, consider getting one from Bike Newport’s Adopt-A-Bike program a few weeks ahead of time. Come in Mondays & Fridays between 4:30-7pm to get set up with some wheels!
