Bristol Police: Eerie lights, a cat bite, and a slow-driving mustachioed man

Police investigated a complaint on Wood Street at 10:20 p.m. after a caller reported that her ex-boyfriend was trying to enter her home.

Tuesday, Feb. 25

Police investigated a vandalism complaint on Valley Drive at 2:29 p.m. after a man reported that his rear window had been broken the previous night.

At 4:04 p.m. police investigated suspicious activity at their headquarters; a driver had accidentally pulled into their parking lot.

Wednesday, Feb. 26

A caller reported a cat bite on Sea Breeze Lane at 11:09 a.m.

Police investigated a forgery/fraud complaint on Wapping Drive at 11:27 a.m.

Police investigated a domestic disturbance on Belvedere Drive at 9 p.m.

Thursday, Feb. 27

A caller reported an intoxicated woman sitting in a vehicle on Metacom Ave. at 5:34 p.m. The woman ended up getting a ride home from another person.

A caller reported a fight with weapons on Hope Street at 7:42 p.m. Rescue was requested.

Friday, Feb. 28

A caller on Hope Street reported the purchase of gift cards with their lost credit card at 11:07 a.m.

Saturday, March 1

Police investigated a noise complaint regarding loud music on Third Street at 12:59 a.m.

An Everett Street caller reported a man wearing a mustache driving a black vehicle slowly down the street at 11:42 a.m.

At 9:08 p.m. a caller from Hope Street reported seeing abnormal lights over the water. A check of the area did not turn up anything unusual.

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once.
