PORTSMOUTH — The Portsmouth 12U Pop Warner football team had no trouble against the East Bay Warriors in the quarterfinals on Saturday, advancing to the semifinals with a 29-0 victory.

Portsmouth 12U Pop Warner team advances to semis

Team dominates East Bay Warriors, 29-0

PORTSMOUTH — The Portsmouth 12U Pop Warner football team had no trouble against the East Bay Warriors in the quarterfinals on Saturday, advancing to the semifinals with a 29-0 victory.

Portsmouth entered the playoffs as the third seed with a 7-1 regular season record. Saturday’s game against sixth-seeded Warriors was played at Portsmouth High School 

Portsmouth will now face No. 2-seeded Seekonk at noon on Sunday, Nov. 3, at Tiverton High School. 

Whoever is victorious will go up against the winner of the other semifinal contest — Dighton-Rehoboth (No.1 seed) vs. New Bedford (No. 4) — in the RISMA Superbowl at Cranston Stadium on Nov. 16.

Also, Portsmouth’s Pop Warner Junior Peewee and JV cheer squads placed second in the RISMA championships at URI on Oct. 20. They will advance to the regional competition held the weekend of Nov. 9.
