PORTSMOUTH — The Portsmouth High girls’ varsity volleyball team will be looking to avenge its only loss this season when it meets North Kingstown in the Division I state title game this Saturday, Nov. 9.

The match begins at 2 p.m. at the Murray Center at Rhode Island College.

The Patriots squeaked by East Providence in the semifinal game at RIC on Tuesday night, 3-2 (21-25, 25-20, 25-17, 21-25, 15-13).

The North Kingstown Skippers defeated the Patriots for their only blemish on the season — a 3-1 win in the PHS field house on Sept. 17.

The Skippers won the other semifinal game against La Salle Academy on Tuesday, 3-1.
