Patriots are 3-0 in Division I to start season

PORTSMOUTH — The Portsmouth High School varsity girls’ basketball team beat Westerly last Friday to win its third straight game to start the season.

Playing at home in the PHS field house, the Patriots dominated the Bulldogs on both sides of the court for a 59-39 win.

The Division I Patriots began the season with a non-league 51-40 victory over Durfee on Dec. 13, followed by a 60-36 win over Chariho on Dec. 18. Both games were also played at home.

• 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 3: Juanita Sanchez

• 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 5: South Kingstown

• 6 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 7: Classical

• 6 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 13: West Warwick
