PORTSMOUTH — Here are some recent arrests made by the Portsmouth Police Department:
Tuesday, Sept. 24
Ambiorix Ogando Mota, 36, of 1015 Iago Ave., Apt. 102, Capital Heights, Md., was charged with possession of a controlled substance; and reckless driving/drag racing/eluding police, first offense. While on patrol in the area of Route 24 North and Cedar Island shortly after 6 p.m., officers observed Mota abruptly slow down his vehicle and commit a lane roadway violation, according to police. Officers tried to pull Mota over, but he initially failed to stop, and was taken into custody after a brief pursuit, police said. While conducting an inventory of the vehicle, police said officers discovered a plastic bag located on the driver’s side floor that contained suspected crack cocaine. Mora was held at the police station pending his arraignment.
Thursday, Sept. 26
Aaron Melchizadek LaPoint, 41, of 141 Third St., Apt. G, Newport, was charged with willful trespass after police responded to a Middle Road home for a report of a trespassing violation around 3:30 p.m.
Friday, Sept. 27
Megan Rene Boyle, 25, of 145 Cottage St., Apt. 6, Pawtucket, was charged with forgery and counterfeiting of registration plates. Officers learned of a counterfeit temporary plate attached to Boyle’s vehicle after a motor vehicle stop at 324 East Main Road around 8:20 a.m., police said.
Sunday, Sept. 29
David Lewis St. Angelo, 45, of 36 Mount Hope Ave., Apt. 3, Bristol, was charged with disorderly conduct (offensive words at another), following what police described as a road rage incident. According to police, video footage showed a driver yelling profanities at another driver in Portsmouth. St. Angelo later admitted to yelling profanities and driving his vehicle when he was arrested at his home shortly before 12:30 p.m., police said.
