PORTSMOUTH — Here are some recent arrests reported by the Portsmouth Police Department:
Monday, June 2
Nadaline Therese Mitchell, 18, of 292 Chapmans Ave., Warwick, was charged with possession of a stolen vehicle/parts, at about 6 p.m. Officers located the vehicle Mitchell was driving on Turnpike Avenue at BankNewport after a caller reported an erratic driver. Prior to stopping the vehicle, officers determined it had been reported stolen from another jurisdiction, police said.
Tuesday, June 3
Calvin Eugene Bouchard, 30, of 683 Fish Road, Tiverton, was charged with driving under the influence (DUI), first offense, after being pulled over for multiple traffic violations on the Sakonnet River Bridge (northbound) shortly after midnight. Bouchard was also cited for refusing to submit to a chemical test.
Christopher Stephen Barlow, 60, of 577 Kings Factory Road, Charlestown, was charged with DUI, first offense, after being pulled over on Burma Road for speeding at about 8 p.m.
Wednesday, June 4
Cynthia Boyko Brough, 74, of 85 Willow Lane, was charged with domestic assault/battery, her second offense, after officers responded to her home shortly after 1 a.m. to investigate a report of a domestic disturbance. Officers observed a minor mark on the wrist of a 78-year-old man, and determined that Brough had been the predominant aggressor. She was placed in custody and transported to Newport Hospital by the fire department for medical treatment, police said.
Nicholas William Maderia, 26, of 3 Inman St., Hopedale, Mass., turned himself in on a charge of shoplifting from the Dollar General store. The store reported the theft on May 26, and officers obtained a warrant for Maderia’s arrest after identifying him through security footage, police said.
Thursday, June 5
Tait Ekblaw, 39, of 66 Gormley Ave., was charged with domestic assault/battery upon a 76-year-old local man. Officers made the arrest after receiving a walk-in report of an assault that had just occurred at Ekblaw’s home, police said. Officers responded to the scene and placed Ekblaw under arrest.
Zachary Mason Bidlack, 19, of 75 Bayview Park, Middletown, was charged with DUI, second offense; driving without an active license, second offense; and underage transporting of alcoholic beverages. Officers responded to the Weaver Cove boat ramp around 11 p.m. to investigate a report of a motor vehicle accident. Officers found Bidlack exhibiting extreme signs of intoxication, and several alcoholic beverages were found inside the vehicle, police said. Bidlack was also cited for refusing to submit to a chemical test.
Saturday, June 7
Shane Marcus Neves Young, 36, of 2 Beacon Court, Newport, was charged with DUI, first offense, after being pulled over for speeding on West Main Road at Bradford Avenue around 1:30 a.m. He was also cited for refusing a chemical test.
Sunday, June 8
Eric Bryan Travers, 25, of 10 Tarkiln Road Kingston, Mass., was charged with DUI, first offense, after being pulled over on Route 24 around 3 a.m. for speeding and committing a roadway violation, police said. Travers was also cited for refusing a chemical test, his second offense.
Oliver Alfredo Pocon Rodriguez, 48, of 25 Williams St., Waltham, Mass., was charged with driving without an active license after being pulled over on West Main Road at Bayview at about 8:10 a.m. It was later determined had an active 2nd District Court bench warrant, police said.
Several people were charged with trespassing on a railroad right-of-way at about 7:45 p.m. Officers were in the area of Railroad Avenue under the Sakonnet River Bridge when they observed them walking on the railroad tracks which are marked with no-trespass signage along the fence line. The following people were issued 2nd District Court summonses and released from the scene: Juan C. Ochoa Ramon, 37, of 155 Blackstone St., Apt. 3, Fall River; Wilson A. AJ Ventura, 20, of 114 Ford St., Apt. 2, Providence; Orlando Nieves Rivera, 51, of 144 Daniel Ave., Providence; Nathaniel Benitez-Pagan, 36, of 35 Wilson St., Norwood, Mass; Jonathan Benitez, 40, of 248 Bowdoin St., Apt. 2, Dorchester, Mass.; and Juan Colon, 42, Yavier Colon Castillo, 18, and Angel M. Colon Castillo, 19, all of 64 Robert Ford Road, Apt. C, Watertown, Mass.
