Princess June opens 8-week Newport concert series

Mystic folk trio Princess June and Newport Classical Festival Artists will open the eight-week NIMFest summer concert series at King Park Gazebo on Sunday, July 6, from 3–6 p.m. The free, family-friendly event is presented thanks to a generous donation from the Hamilton Family Foundation, and produced by the New England Music Organization and North End Entertainment.

The Newport-based singer/songwriter trio Princess June weaves rich three-part harmonies and introspective, uplifting lyrics in what they call “cosmic lullabies for the soul.” Drawing inspiration from folk greats like The Mamas & the Papas, Fleet Foxes, and Simon & Garfunkel, the trio infuses their music with themes of nature, spirituality, and life's synchronicities.

Princess June co-founder and guitarist/pianist Myah Strauser brings the rugged, reflective spirit of her Montana upbringing; Griffin Keeffe contributes fingerstyle guitar and melodic bass grounded in New England’s coastal landscapes; and newcomer Telli Quinn, joining in 2023, contributes powerful vocals and ethereal piano to the trio’s dynamic harmonies.

Princess June’s upcoming debut album, Beyond the Fence, produced by Steve Rizzo, reflects their deep connection to nature, spirituality, and the human experience, delivered through rich acoustic arrangements and soul-stirring vocals. You can find more information about Princess June and listen to their latest single at www.PrincessJuneMusic.com.

The afternoon begins with a performance by talented young artists participating in the Newport Classical Music Festival. Running from July 4th - 22nd, the festival celebrates the joy of music with 29 concerts across 11 iconic venues including the King Park Gazebo. Find out more at www.NewportClassical.org.

The 2025 NIMFest continues with a stellar lineup—Jill McCracken (July 13), Hawk in the Nest (July 20), Diane Blue (August 10), and culminating with Guess Method on August 24.
