Quiet start to the new year for Portsmouth Police

PORTSMOUTH — Here are some recent highlights from the Portsmouth Police report:

Tuesday, Jan. 4

Elias B. Soderlund, 20, was charged with underage possession of alcohol after the vehicle in which he was a passenger was pulled over on Stringham Road just before 1 a.m.

Wednesday, Jan. 5

William S. Hynson, 58, of 2431 East Main Road 5, was arrested on a 6th District Court bench warrant after the vehicle he was driving was stopped for multiple violations on East Main Road around 10:30 p.m., police said.

Friday, Jan. 7

Amanda L. Rebello, 35, of 36 South Drive, was charged with driving under the influence (first offense) after her vehicle was pulled over on Bristol Ferry Road at Brownell Lane around 1:40 a.m. According to police, she was stopped for failing to maintain the lane of travel as well as an equipment violation. Rebello was also cited for refusing to submit to a chemical test.
