Born in New London, Conn., he was the son of the late Robert and Ethel (Potter) Fitton.

Robert M. Fitton, Jr., 85, Barrington

Robert M. Fitton, Jr., 85, of Barrington, passed away Monday, Jan. 12, 2015, at Grace Barker Nursing Center.

Born in New London, Conn., he was the son of the late Robert and Ethel (Potter) Fitton.

He was the owner of Fittons Towing, and a US Navy veteran.

He is survived by one daughter, Deborah “Deb” Fitton of Riverside; one son, Thomas Fitton; one sister, Betty Aldrich of East Providence; and two grandchildren, Savanna Fitton, and Joshua Pierce. He was the father of the late John Fitton, and brother of the late Roberta Fitton.

He was a supporter of Meeting Street School and East Bay Mental Health.

A funeral service for Robert will be held on Saturday, Jan. 17 at 11 a.m. in the Smith-Mason Funeral Home 398 Willett Avenue, Riverside. Calling hours will be held on Friday, Jan. 16 from 4 to 6 p.m.  Visit smithmason.com for online condolences.
