The Town of Barrington will host the Great Pumpkin Harvest Party on Saturday, Oct. 9 from 1:30 to 4 at Library Cove, behind the Barrington Library.

The event is open to children ages 2 to 12 and will include pumpkin decorating, mini golf, face-painting, balloon twisting, crafts, music, and a Halloween maze. A costume parade begins at 3:30 p.m. The event, which is free, is sponsored by the town, the Barrington Business Association and Four Town Farm.

Day of Caring

Barrington will hold its annual Day of Caring on Monday, Oct. 11, from noon to 4 p.m.

The town-wide event brings together the community and offers help to those in need through service projects. The Day of Caring is a collaboration of local houses of worship, community organizations and the Town of Barrington.

Volunteer groups are assigned to projects which have been pre-planned and organized. This year’s Day of Caring is expanding its service to include any resident who needs help with an outdoor project and would benefit from volunteer support.

Due to pandemic precautions, projects will be limited to outdoor work and smaller groups of volunteers. Examples of Day of Caring projects include repairing a fence, gate, shed, railings, steps, porches, cutting back overgrown bushes or hedges and yard clean-ups.

Please join this special annual event in Barrington, providing practical help to neighbors. Email questions to dpagetrim@barrington.ri.gov or call 247-1900 ext. 365.
