The Barrington High School girls lacrosse team improved its record to 9-2 after defeating South Kingstown 19-7 on Tuesday night, May 9. The victory pushed Barrington’s win streak to four games.

The Barrington High School girls lacrosse team improved its record to 9-2 after defeating South Kingstown 19-7 on Tuesday night, May 9. The victory pushed Barrington’s win streak to four games.

Emily Horn and Emma Johnson led Barrington in scoring. Horn tallied six goals, while Johnson finished with five goals and one assist. Alex Hope had a strong all-around performance, finishing with four goals, three assists, six ground balls, two draw-controls, and two interceptions.

Charlotte Danyla also played well in the victory. She scored four goals and had two assists. Anna Lombardi assisted on five goals and dominated draw controls with five. Violet Gagliano played well, tallying three assists, eight ground balls, four caused turnovers, and five draw controls.  

Freshman goalie Kate McAdams made five saves against the Rebels.

Finley Carr and Zoe Lockwood scored three goals each for South Kingstown.

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
