Stanley J. Wilusz, 94, Tiverton

Stanley J. Wilusz, 94, of Tiverton, passed away on May 14,  2021. He was the loving husband of the late Helen (Golen) Wilusz to whom he was married for 63 years.

Born in Holyoke, Mass., he was the son of the late Wojciech and Katarzyna (Czarnota) Wilusz. He had been a resident of Tiverton since 1966.

In his younger working years, Stanley left school to support the war effort in 1943, working as a machinist at the U.S. Naval Torpedo Station, Newport. He was a two-time military veteran serving proudly as a merchant seaman in the U.S. Maritime Services during World War II and as a Sergeant in the U.S Army during the Korean Conflict. 

Upon completing his Army service, he was employed as an Electronics Technician at Quonset Point, at New London, Conn. Navy Lab, then at the Naval Undersea System Center in Newport, where he retired after more than 30 years of civilian government service. He continued to work as an Electronics Technician at McGlaughlin Research Company for several years thereafter. 

Mr. Wilusz was a member and in his earlier years had served as Treasurer of the Blessed Trinity Parish (formerly the Blessed Virgin Mary Parish) in Fall River. He was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and Disabled American Veterans, American Legion, American Merchant Marines Vets and the U.S. Armed Guards WWII Vets. He also had served as Treasurer of the North Tiverton Senior Citizen’s Club (North Tiverton Fire Barn). Stanley enjoyed traveling, the beach and dining out all around the Southern New England area.

He is survived by his daughter, Kathryn H. Wilusz of Ireland; his son, Thomas Wilusz of Tiverton; three grandchildren, Alicia A. McGuire and her husband Robert Fisher of Westport, Chad R. Wilusz and his partner Danielle Stone of Middletown, NY, and Michael W. Brennan of Ireland; three great grandchildren, Greyson, Arie and Laney; his sister, Amelia Kosmo of Fall River, and several nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Carol Wilusz Ney and brother of the late Edward Wilusz and Jenny Valois.

Stanley’s funeral will be held Wednesday, May 19, 2021. Arrangements are entrusted to Boyko Memorial Funeral Home, 709 Broadway  Fall River, MA 02724. Donations in his memory can be made to the Blessed Trinity Parish, Fall River, MA. www.boykomemorial.com
