Rogers’ Free Library’s Summer Reading Program runs July 5 through Aug. 13 this year, and patrons can register online or in person. “We have a mix of virtual and in-person programs this year, and we are partnering with Linden Place and the Audubon Society,” said Kristin Amaral, the library’s information and technology librarian.
“We have our classic, favorite children's performers, some new exciting performances and lots of crafts this year.”
Ms. Amaral is especially excited about the new subscription box program. Developed by Kyera Shea, the library’s circulation supervisor and adult programming librarian, each box comes with a library book (picked by one of the library’s staff members based on answers to a questionnaire), a snack, and other exciting trinkets.
The theme for all three programs is Tails & Tales. In addition to the book boxes, the adult program includes book groups, trivia, a painting party and a game tournament. For teens, the library will be offering crafts, a painting party, and book clubs, as well as a video game competition and board games in the garden.
For children, in addition to book clubs and crafts, the library will be offering several special events, including a movie at night, storytime, Cartoonagrams with Steve Brosnihan, and, in partnership with Linden Place, Audubon’s Raptor Encounter, Mr. Vinny the Bubble Guy, and the Toe Jam Puppet Band.
