The weekend brings noise complaints around Bristol

Bristol Police made one arrest and responded to an array of noisy neighbor complaints from Sept. 16 to 22. Following is a roundup of incidents from the weekly police log.

Monday, Sept. 16

A woman came to the station at 2:04 p.m. to report a recent road rage incident.

Officers were called to 394 Metacom Ave. to speak to a resident about damage to her property.

A Bay View Avenue resident reported eggs had been thrown at their house the prior Friday.

Tuesday, Sept. 17

Security personnel at the R.I. Veterans’ Home called police at 2:34 a.m. after a nurse heard someone throwing things at windows in one area of the facility. Officers responded but did not find anyone.

Officers and then Rescue were called to a Wood Street residence after someone was seen outside screaming and throwing clothes onto the sidewalk and driveway at 8:22 a.m.

A caller from Greenway Drive reported trespassing on his property.

A caller from E Street reported identity theft.

A resident called about a gathering of university students who were being loud at 11:21 p.m. on King Philip Avenue. Officers spoke to those on scene who agreed to move inside for the night.

Wednesday, Sept. 18

Officers were called to a verbal dispute on Mt. Hope Avenue at 6:16 a.m.

One person was transported to Rhode Island Hospital after a motor vehicle collided with a pedestrian at the intersection of Church and High streets at 9:29 a.m.

A resident came to the station to report that someone threw a bag of liquid at her car while she was driving in the area of Hope Street and Brookfarm Drive the night prior.

A caller reported hearing yelling and screaming from inside a residence on Tobin Lane at 4:48 p.m. Officers responded and said the dispute was verbal only.

An officer dispersed a vehicle and its occupants from Belltower Plaza at 9:22 p.m.

A caller reported seeing a woman being chased by a man in the area of the Town Common at 9:57 p.m. Officers spoke to one person about the situation but did not locate the involved parties.

Thursday, Sept. 19

A tree stump near the woodline on Narrow Road was discovered smoking at 9:30 a.m.

A caller reported seeing a man in a white pickup truck beating a dog inside Colt State Park at 10:43 a.m. Officers responded but could not locate the person.

Friday, Sept. 20

Officers advised management at Aidan’s Pub to turn down the music after a noise complaint at 12:42 a.m.

A caller reported damage to barricades that were set up at the Walley School.

Police received multiple 411Tip calls about yelling, things being broken and a loud dispute inside a residence on Easterbrooks Avenue. Officers responded but took no further action.

A caller in the area of Dolly Drive and Hope Street reported their car was egged the night before.

A caller reported college students were playing football and hitting cars in the roadway along Buttonwood Street at 6:30 p.m. An officers spoke with them and they agreed to move into their backyard instead.

A woman called to report that a man had pushed her out of his vehicle in the area of Richmond and Prospect streets at 6:37 p.m. Officers searched for the man but did immediately locate him. William Tyler Herlihy, 32, of Wood Street, Warren, was later found and charged with domestic simple assault, resisting arrest, and disorderly conduct.

An officer visited the Almeida Court Apartments at 8:28 p.m. to advise university students to turn down the music.

A caller complained about loud music at DeWolf Tavern at 9:45 p.m.

Saturday, Sept. 21

Someone complained about loud music in the area of King Philip Avenue and Division Street at 6:45 p.m.

A DJ agreed to turn down the music after a complaint about loud music at Thames Waterside Grill at 9:17 p.m.

A small group of people were advised to turn down the music after a noise complaint on Mt. Hope Avenue at 10:11 p.m. The same happened on Perry Street at the same time.

Sunday, Sept. 22

Officers responded to residences to address noise complaints on State Street at 12:08 a.m., on Poli Street at 1:24 a.m., and again on Poli Street at 2:06 a.m.

A caller from Metacom Avenue reported his tires had been slashed overnight.
