It’s a day of celebration in Tiverton on Saturday, May 24.
The festivities start with the Tiverton Celebrates Parade beginning at 10 a.m. at the corner of Judson Street and traveling along Main Road and ending at Little Willow Childcare (the old Li’l Bear). Rolling road closures will occur as the parade passes by.
Later in the day, the celebration continues at Grinnell’s Beach with a block party starting at 5:30 p.m. with food trucks, face painting, henna, a golf simulator, rock climbing, live music (Digg It Band), cornhole on the beach, and sidewalk chalk so young artists can leave their mark.
Note that Grinnell’s beach will be closed all day and Main Road in the Grinnell’s Beach area will be closed from 4 to 10 p.m.
Parking and buses are available at Ranger School and Tiverton High School. If you can, take a bus down as nearby parking will be extremely limited.
Fireworks will go off at 8:45 p.m. and last 20 to 25 minutes.
Multiple port-a-potties will be available as the Grinnell’s bathrooms with be closed.
Bring chairs and blankets and enjoy a fun, free, family-friendly evening.
Tiverton Power is the presenting sponsor and First Student is the transportation sponsor. Planners also thank the Tiverton Police Department, Tiverton Fire Department, Paul’s Press and the Rys family.
