At 1:52 pm, the RI Attorney General’s office called about a Tiverton resident who has allegedly made threats against the Attorney General.

At 8:47 pm, a Meadow View Lane resident called to tell police that there were four cows in the back yard.

Friday, May 14

Elaine Alice Gizzi, 64, of Dartmouth, Mass., was arrested on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol, blood alcohol content unknown, refusal to submit to a chemical test and to a breath test, laned roadway violations, presence of open alcoholic beverage while driving, and driving below minimum speed. The arrest was at 12:26 am on Bulgarmarsh Road.

Troy D. Butler, 47, of Newport, was arrested on a charge of driving with a suspended license, third offense, at 2:23 am on Route 24 north.

Barry J. Borges, 52, of Fall River, was arrested on a charge of narcotics possession and on a bench warrant from 6th District Court at 4:34 pm on Route 24.

Police went to Fogland Beach at 9:47 pm for a call about a large gathering after hours. Police reported “vehicles leaving area.”

Saturday, May 15

Police were called at 6:49 am about loud yard work on Merritt Avenue.

After an 11:33 am accident in the Grinnell’s Beach parking lot, a juvenile was cited for driving without a license.

A Last Street resident called to report that a neighbor had removed property survey markers.

A person came to the station to report being harassed on Fogland Beach.

Police responded to neighbor disputes on Warren Avenue (1:31 pm), Canonicus Street — “ongoing” (at 2:36 pm), and Tucker Avenue (3:31 pm).

A caller reported a large number of motorcycles speeding on Canonicus Street at 4:47 pm; Large gathering in the area of Andrews Body Shop. At 9:03 pm, “Still a large gathering at Andrew’s Body Shop.”

A noise complaint was called in at 10:20 pm on Mill Street; Music has been turned down, an officer reported.

Large fireworks were reported off Bulgarmarsh Road at 11:11 pm. 

Sunday, May 16

Terry Lewis, 20, of 591 Crandall Road, Tiverton, was arrested on charges of disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and vandalism at 5:03 am at Bourne Mill Apartments. Police had been called at 2:02 am for a disturbance — “Young male yelling and hitting cars, taking off mirrors.”

At 6:13 pm, a 911 caller reported a man yelling at another at Four Seasons Mobile Home Association, Brayton Road.

At 7:26 pm, Portsmouth Police called about a blue motorcycle weaving past vehicles at a high rate of speed on Route 24 north — “no longer pursuing.”

Monday, May 17

At 6:36 am, police were called about trucks starting before 7 am in the area of 810 Fish Road.

At 7:47 am, a Canonicus Street resident called about a neighbor putting up a fence and blocking her view.

Andrew N. Santos, 27, of Fall River, was arrested on charges of domestic disorderly conduct and domestic breaking and entering at 8:44 am at Dadson Mobile Home Park, Bulgarmarsh Road.

Monday, May 17

A Thomas Street resident called police at 11:38 pm about children harassing her.

A motorist on Route 24 north called 911 to report a road rage incident; She said that she and a passenger were assaulted in a parking area.

Justin Joseph Martin, 22, of 857 Main Road, Tiverton, was arrested on an affidavit and arrest warrant at 2:58 pm at the police station.

Keith M. Duponte, 31, of Fall River, was arrested on a charge of marijuana possession, more than one ounce, at 7 pm on Judson Street.

A7 9:42 pm, a caller complained about a truck parked open Main Road at Eight Rod Way with its lights on and generator running. An officer determined that the vehicle was a DOT street sweeper.

Cars racing on Hancock Street or Hurst Lane were reported at 9:53 pm.

A South Court caller told police that children were throwing stones at her house at 10:07 pm.

One person was transported to St. Anne’s Hospital after a car struck a tree at the junction of King Road and Lafayette Road at 11:50 pm. The car had to be towed.

Tuesday, May 18

A Maple Drive caller filed a complaint about internet fraud.

A motorist came to the station to report having struck a deer the night before in the area of Pocasset Hill Cemetery.

A 911 caller notified police about a motor vehicle accident at the corner of Crandall Road and Blueberry Lane at 12:03 pm. One person was transported to St. Anne’s Hospital and a car was towed.

At 4:57 pm, a 911 caller said that juveniles were fighting at the Sandy Woods Farmer’s Market on Muse Way. “Juveniles dispersed,” an officer reported.

A caller at Grinnell’s Beach called at 7:32 pm to report that a man with saggy pants, belt undone, knocked on her vehicle window and asked her to get out. He then stood in the water, waste deep, talking on his cell phone, before getting into a car with Massachusetts plates.

At 11:54 pm, callers reported a group of balloons in the northbound lanes of Route 24, “causing people to swerve.”

Wednesday, May 19

A hit and run accident was reported at Tiverton Materials, Fish Road, prior to 8:44 am.

A Canonicus Street caller complained about big green trucks driving up and down the street all day.

A Durfee Road resident called at 11:12 am about the larceny of money. The resident called back a few minutes later to report that the money had been found.

At 11:36 am, Durfee Road resident called with a woodchuck complaint.

A Montgomery Street resident filed a complaint about dogs digging under the fence at 1:55 pm.

A Bay Street resident called at 5:05 pm to report being scammed out of $2,000 through Amazon.

Officers went to Pocasset Avenue at 6:55 pm to free a baby deer stuck in a fence.

Callers complained about dirt bikes/ATVs driving on residents’ lawns in the area of Winterberry Lane at 7:29 am. Police found the juveniles on Teaberry Lane and contacted their parents.

A suspicious person on a scooter was reported at 10:48 pm. Police stopped a scooter but found no issues.

Thursday, May 20

Police went to Crandall Road at 12:25 pm for complaints of dogs barking loudly since before 11 pm. The dogs’ owners were not at home. 

An officer went to Tiverton Middle School at 9:17 am regarding juveniles fighting.

Police retrieved an unleashed dog on Shore Road at 10:24 am but the owners were not home.

Police tried, without success, to catch a loose yellow lab seen running on Grinnell’s Beach at 6:57 pm.

Friday, May 21

Barking dog complaints: At 2:04 am on Hooper Street; at 2:13 pm on Seapowet Avenue.

Police spoke to two Fairfield Avenue neighbors after one accused the other of making verbal threats at 2:51 pm.

At 4:03 pm, officers investigated an apparent attempted breaking and entering earlier in the day on Stafford Road. A window was broken but it did not appear that entry was gained.

Scott M. Rebello, 49, of 109 Fairfield Ave., Tiverton, was arrested on a charge of domestic violation of a no-contact order at 10:23 pm at another address on Fairfield Avenue.

A water main break caused water to flow onto Dewey Avenue at 6:39 pm.

Police were called to Bourne Avenue at 11:05 pm for a report that a vehicle was missing from the residence. “Vehicle parked in front of house,” the investigating officer reported.
