Town looking for people to share their memories of the library

Stories could be featured on special PBS program

Do you have a story to tell about Barrington Public Library? If so, the town wants to hear from you.

Town officials are currently seeking residents who are willing to share their stories about the town’s library, whether that is from a childhood visit, a memorable event, or a librarian who made a difference.

The stories could be featured in the upcoming library segment of “Our Town Barrington” on Rhode Island PBS.

Following is a list of some stories the town is seeking:

• Memories of when the library was located in Barrington Town Hall

• Memories of the first- or second-floor renovations

• Memories of favorite story times or other programs

• Stories about how the library has impacted someone’s life and the community

Anyone who is willing to share, should email segan@barringtonlibrary.org or call the library at 401-247-1920 ext. 7.

“We will set up a time for you to come in and tell your story,” stated a release from the town. “We can create an audio recording or video recording of your interview, depending on your comfort level.”

People can also submit photos of the library.
