The Townies scored a thrilling 27-26 victory over rival La Salle Academy in the 95th Annual Thanksgiving Day game on Thursday, earning their first victory in the storied rivalry matchup since 2017.

Townies hold off La Salle for first Thanksgiving Day win since 2017

The Townies scored a thrilling 27-26 victory over rival La Salle Academy in the 95th Annual Thanksgiving Day game on Thursday, earning their first victory in the storied rivalry matchup since 2017.

Shadean Lovett scampered into the end zone with just over a minute ago to put the Townies up, and they held off a late surge by the Rams, slamming the door on a conversion attempt and securing the victory.

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986.
